Dough
- 500 g (4 cups) flour
- 250 g (1 1/2 cups) cooked, mashed potatoes
- 200 ml (3/4 cup) warm milk
- 20 g (0.7 oz) yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 100 ml (1/3 cup) sour cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
Toppings
- 200 g (7 oz) smoked bacon
- 1 large onion
- 150 g (5 oz) sausage (sliced)
- 200 g (2 cups) grated cheese
- 200 ml (3/4 cup) sour cream
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preparing the Dough
Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm milk.
Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt and mashed potatoes.
Pour in the yeast mixture and sour cream, then knead the dough thoroughly. If necessary, add a little more warm milk.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
Preparing the toppings
Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry until crispy. Set aside.
Cut the onion into half-rings and sauté in the bacon fat until translucent.
Mix the minced garlic with sour cream, and season with salt and pepper.
Assembling the Töki pompos
Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Spread the garlic-sour cream mixture over the dough.
Sprinkle with the fried bacon, sautéed onions, and sliced sausage.
Finally, top with grated cheese.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
