Oliver, the founder of Easy Meals Everyday
About me and cooking
Hey, it’s Oliver here, the founder of this blog. Without being long-winded, I’d like to share some thoughts about my relationship with cooking. I’ve always loved eating, but for a long time, I considered cooking a waste of time. As long as I lived at home with my parents and brothers, my mother cooked for the family, and I helped sometimes, but it didn’t catch my interest that much.
Later, when I moved out, I realized that eating out all the time is expensive, so I started to explore cooking and prepared some easy meals. I made many mistakes, but after a while, I got better and fell in love with cooking. As a kid, I used pencils and paper to express my creativity, then I changed to programming languages and browsers, and now I’m using ladles and pots.
In a nutshell, I have a constantly growing passion for cooking and am eager to learn new things and get better at it.
About the blog generally
With this blog, my primary goal is simply to share my passion for cooking. Since I work as an copywriter/blogger, I have my income, so I don’t stress about making money here. Although there are related costs, such as hosting and domain, so I’m willing to monetize it through ads, email marketing, or even affiliate programs.
Also, I’d like to say that I’m not a nutritionist whatsoever; I haven’t studied anything related, I just love cooking. That said, since my passion for cooking is growing, I took some courses in cooking, nutrition, menu and diet planning, and similar subjects. By gaining this knowledge, I’m able to give you better recipes and more trustworthy blog articles.
About the pictures
The visual impact of a website is crucial, so I aim to provide the best pictures possible. However, there’s one thing to keep in mind: the food will never look exactly like the pictures.
First of all, I feel obligated to mention that I use AI to generate professional pictures. Even if I could take professional photos myself (which I cannot, since I lack the equipment and am not a professional photographer), they still wouldn’t look the same.
In my early twenties, I worked in a photo studio, so I know how things work. They took pictures of clothes for brands’ webshops, but what you don’t see in the pictures are the clips used on the back to achieve a nice, tight appearance — not to mention the PhotoShop afterwork. Just as the clothes won’t look the same on you as they do in the webshop, the food won’t look the same either. Cooking is one thing, but serving and garnishing are another.
So don’t stress about it, just enjoy the process and serve your food as you feel.
Beside the blog
Family is my top priority. Growing up, I was blessed with a family that always supported me in following my dreams. In 2019, I was fortunate enough to find my beautiful Brazilian love, a relationship that has brought immense joy and fulfillment to my life.
Recently, I embarked on the incredible journey of fatherhood with the arrival of my precious baby girl. This new chapter has brought a lot of challanges and love, and I cherish every moment spent with my growing family.
