Serves 12 balls | Prepared in 30 mins | Difficulty: Easy
These Energy Balls are the perfect bite-sized snack for a burst of energy and flavor. Made with wholesome ingredients like oats, almond butter, and chia seeds, they’re naturally sweetened with honey and a hint of cinnamon. Each ball is chewy, satisfying, and loaded with nutrients, making them an ideal snack for busy days or a post-workout treat.
Ingredients
- 150 g (1 1/2 cups) rolled oats
- 125 g (1/2 cup) almond butter or peanut butter
- 80 g (1/4 cup) honey or maple syrup
- 30 g (2 tablespoons) flaxseed meal
- 30 g (2 tablespoons) chia seeds
- 50 g (1/4 cup) dark chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond butter, honey, flaxseed meal, chia seeds, chocolate chips (if using), vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
2. Form the Balls
Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls (about 2.5 cm or 1 inch in diameter). If the mixture is too sticky, refrigerate for about 15 minutes to firm it up before shaping.
3. Chill
Place the formed balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
4. Store and Serve
Once set, transfer the energy balls to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week or in the freezer for up to a month.
Enjoy as a quick, healthy snack or an on-the-go energy boost.
